Horse Boarding Available Now!
Welcome to Misfit Ranch CO! Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to a question here or in your boarding contract.
The following are some of the ranch rules that will help us all get along with each other. They are in no particular order, but all equally important!
6AM TO 10PM
All horses that are moving in must have a negative Coggins within the last year and a health check within the past 7 days for the safety of the other horses on property. Please be prepared to share copies of those with us prior to moving your horse. There are no exceptions!
Open a gate, close the gate as soon as you’ve passed through it. The property is fully fenced. In the event we have an escape artist, the pasture gates can be closed until the suspect is apprehended.
Please notify us if you are taking your horse offsite for more than one day. This allows us to plan our feed amounts properly. We do not need to be notified if it will be offsite just for the day.
Also, if you are planning on traveling with your horse, you are welcome to take hay for the meals your horse will miss.
We share a private road with our neighbors, and we all take responsibility for maintaining it. Please do not drive more than 15 MPH on Hackamore Road. If the ground is wet OR if you are towing a trailer on our road or property, drop that down to 10 MPH. This helps reduce ruts and potholes. Your horses will also thank you! Please do not block driveways, gates, dumpsters, vehicles, trailers, or other farm equipment.
Unless the guest is a LICENSED VETERINARIAN, EQUINE THERAPIST or FARRIER, everyone, and we mean EVERYONE, that comes onto the property and exits the vehicle that they arrived in, needs to sign our waiver. (This can be found on our website and can be digitally signed on most phones with an internet connection. You can also download a copy and fill it out in advance.) Waivers will need to be signed the first time you come out and again at the start of each new year. We recommend all children wear helmets.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all guests sign a waiver and adhere to our barn rules found on our website. It is our sole discretion as to whether we allow outside horses or visitors to the property.
We need to be notified in advance of outside horses being brought on the property. The owner and/or rider should be prepared to sign a waiver and a fee of $10 will be collected for each horse per day. (The waiver can be found on our website and can be digitally signed on most phones with an internet connection. You can also download a copy and fill it out in advance.) Waivers will need to be signed the first time you come out and again at the start of each new year. We recommend all children wear helmets.
Please do not allow offsite horses near the horse pens. We do not want any nose to nose contact with outside horses and the horses on property.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all guests sign a waiver and adhere to our barn rules found on our website. It is our sole discretion as to whether we allow outside horses or visitors to the property.

This is a horse friendly area. You may ride around the pasture or venture out to the road. Please stay alert to vehicles or other animals/people that may also be using the roads. Be courteous to our neighbors. There are also many different types of animals that share this area including, but not limited to, coyotes, foxes, pronghorn, livestock, snakes (YUCK!) and one mostly friendly cat named Fred. Fred has been known to stowaway in various trucks and trailers so please double check that he’s not hitching a ride out of here because we are quite fond of him!
We don’t typically expect there to be much of a traffic jam, but if you run into someone else using the facilities, please be courteous and share the road. Please clean up after yourself and your horse. Please do not tie your horse to any temporary panels.
If we have a larger event and/or the arena is closed for maintenance, we will do our best to send out an email to give advanced warning.
Also, if you are interested in having a clinician come onsite, please reach out and we can discuss it.
Please review guidelines above regarding Guests and Outside Horses on Property.
In order to keep the facility clean and safe for everyone, we ask that you pick up after yourself and your horse if you are in any of the common areas, parking, arenas or round pens. If you are out enjoying a ride around the pastures, you do not have to pick up the poop. We have provided red buckets around the property for your manure only. Please put trash in the dumpster near entrance to property.
Please leave your dogs/pets at home. Apologies if our dogs are barking, but they are just doing their job.
We do not allow stallions on this property.
Outdoor storage of horse trailers is allowed as part of an approved equestrian operation.
1. Only those trailers that are for use by owners of the property, people associated with the operation, and/or boarded horses may be stored. General trailer storage is not allowed.
2. No more than one trailer per horse residing on the property is allowed.
3. All horse trailers shall be currently licensed and operable.
We do not yet have a tack area, but we may be able to work with you to store your grain or supplements depending on what you need. We also have a refrigerator available if you need to store any medications. Please put them in a Ziplock bag and label them so we know who they belong to.
We are a licensed insurance broker in CO, WY, TX and AZ. If you are interested in getting a quote for your horse, please reach out and we can make that happen.
We also have all different types of insurance, too!
Just visit www.malaraagency.com to contact us.
CLEANING PENS: Regular scheduled run/paddock cleaning. We do our very best to keep things clean and tidy, but please be patient if the weather does not cooperate with us.
HAY: We try to stock up on our hay each summer for most of the year so there is consistency in feeding. It is horse-quality grass hay. Also, if you are planning on traveling with your horse, you are welcome to take hay for the meals your horse will miss.
DAILY FEEDING: Two times daily, AM and PM feeding of grass hay.
SUPPLEMENTS AND BLANKETING: If you are interested in learning more about these services, you can find them on the Pricing tab of www.misfitranchco.com. Please reach out to make arrangements, if you would like to add services.
WORMING: For worming to be effective, it’s best if we all do it at the same time. We like to worm after the first frost and again in the spring. The type of wormer that you use can be decided by you and your veterinarian. We will notify folks when we intend to worm our own horses as a gentle reminder.
TREATS: Please do not feed anything to any animals that are not your own.
FLY CONTROL: We usually use fly predators during the summer months to help control flies. Please do not leave standing water on the property.
WATER/HOSES: A water spigot is available, but please conserve water and shut off while not actively using and unhook all hoses when finished.
In the event of an emergency outbreak, we will adhere to all county/state/federal mandates. This may include quarantine and you are required to comply with any mandates.
In the event we can’t all get along, sometimes it’s best to part ways. We will do our best to keep communications lines open and try to work with you to find solutions. If we can’t get to a common ground or even if your horse just isn’t fitting in, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement.
For any broad announcements, we will send emails from misfitranchco@gmail.com(you may want to check your junk/spam once in awhile). We also text and this is most often our preferred way to communicate for fastest responses. We will usually only call you in the event of an emergency.
Initial boarding payment will be made by check. Future monthly payments may be made my check or Venmo. We do not accept cash.

In the event you are injured anywhere on the property, notify us immediately. If your horse is injured or sick or you witness any other accidents or sick animals on property, notify us immediately VIA TEXT 970-214-1559.
This list may grow over time as we find more things that we want to communicate out. Please check the website often if you have any questions on current barn rules. While we are not fancy, we will make every effort to keep you and your horses safe and comfortable.
